happy labor day monday!
did you enjoy the weekend or are you still enjoying it...lol.
me? well there are no real holidays when trying to build a business. seriously. anyway...
i have a question. is there anyone here who loves grasscloth wallpaper as much as i do?
grasscloth adds so much texture to a space. the truth is you don't really need a lot of it for it to have an amazing impact in a room. just a corner, a nook, or a single wall will really do the trick.
i don't think they have caught on yet, but i go into ralph lauren and try on clothes just because of the grasscloth wallpaper in the dressing rooms. its designed so effortlessly with stacked-crisp-white moldings. design crushing over here.
wallpaper is considered a natural wall covering so it is also eco-friendly. but let me be real with you guys for a moment. i would like it even if it was so much eco-friendly. don't judge.
honestly, every since i started seeing the wallpaper i have always wanted some. i never took the plunge to buy any because i am renting right now. no need in spending a lot money for something that i cant use at the present. im on a budget remember? lolif grasscloth is incorporated correctly it can really add a bout of elegance to a space.
whether in a small or large space, powder room or
even in a kitchen, grasscloth is just the right element to add an extra layer of texture to a room.
so imagine my surprise when i almost tripped over 6 rolls of grasscloth wallpaper, yesterday while i was out and about. (insert church dance right here.)
seriously. i am for sure i had come through this particular area already, i didn't see them. when i came back they were rolling around on the floor. i think a lot of people still have this idea that wallpaper is old foogy, so i am sure that's why it was still there and two because ive never mentioned this store on the blog. its my little secret. same place i found the drafting table. ummm hmmm.i didn't get a chance to do a little research on the wallpaper company until i got home. let me tell ya, this was a great buy. i am always leery about giving out prices here on the blog, because i don't want to be the reason someone else goes into a store and its like 3 times the price, but anyway. each roll was less than $2!
yea i know. although this particular line is no longer being manufactured it would have probably gone for around $80-$100 a roll. eeek! worth the investment tho.
so what am i going to do with it? nothing. well not yet. i am saving it for my apartment or my house that ill hopefully come sooner rather than later.
so grasscloth...could you love it for $2 a roll?

I have done the same thing except with a vintage orange on orange damask wall covering. Still waiting on that perfect place to hang! Oh and grass cloth, love it!
Great find!!!! I LOVE grasscloth too and it is so making a fantastic comeback! My sister just papered her mudroom in grasscloth and it looks fantastic but the paper alone cost her over $400!!! I love your blog and am following you on pinterest as well! Super great find and I "get" the happy church dance!! From one "goodwiller" to another!!
That is AWESOME!! Grasscloth is so great and you sure did score. My sister just papered her mudroom in grasscloth and the paper alone cost her over $400!!! Not to mention the cost of having it hung!$$$ Great find. Love your blog and am following you on Pinterest. So fun to find a fellow "goodwiller"
I love grasscloth, too. So much that I'm hanging it on my dining room wall. I thought I was doing well, since I originally liked a paper that was $120 a roll, but found a look-a-like for $50 a roll. However, you're doing WAY better!
Love your style and appreciate reading your blog.
Grasscloth is oh so classy and timeless. The warmth and texture it adds to a room is incomparable. I have it in my bedroom and just love it!
By the way, I adore your style!
I would've snatched this out of your cart and ran to the check out :) Ha! Great find.
I'm so jealous I could die. Not really, but you know what I mean! :)
My whole powder room was papered in grasscloth when I moved in and I never changed it ... it was lovely. Unfortunately I moved out of that house because of divorce but I have plenty of space to find a nook for some grasscloth here. I'm taking doors off kitchen cabinets - I love the idea of papering the inside of them (if I can find it for $2/roll!). BTW, other than my couch (which I bought in 1986) & 2 artist-made wood pieces, there is no furniture in my house I paid more than $200 for...
SO AWESOME! What a great find!! Can't wait to see what you do with it!
I love grasscloth at any price, but two bucks a roll makes it just that much better. What a great score.
For less than $2 a roll they would be "rolling around the floor" at my place too; until I found a place to use them!
Congrats!

Hi there! So love the grass cloth. I just used a metallic grass cloth from Candace Olsen (pricy, but mice) behind a build in china cabinet, between my living room and dining room, and adjoining bar area. Gorgeous!

I just finished looking at your blog, and while I was reading I was also watching Rizoli & Isles. Well in Dr. Isles house what do I see in the background, GRASSCLOTH!!! It was so chic the way it was done. Totally crushin' on this look right now!!
I LOVE grasscloth! A word of caution, though: pets can destroy the wallcovering pretty quickly. Cats will love you for giving them such a nice scratching post, and dogs that like to look out windows will tear it up where they put their paws on the wall. Also, it can start to fray and look "shaggy" in high traffic areas, if people are rubbing against it. NOT saying don't use it -- just be careful about where you use it. I'm totally jealous of your amazing deal!
WHAT a deal!! I'd love to put up grasscloth in an apartment, I bet it can be hung with tiny nail holes instead of adhesive like regular wallpaper. Hmm... now you've got my wheels turning...
Great find!
Fabulous Find! I was considering using grasscloth wallpaper in my son's room until I spent a week stripping wallpaper out of the dining room. (Just bought a house and have to re-do it) Now I am SERIOUSLY reconsidering wallpaper, but IF I found a deal like that--I would probably go for it.
OMG so jealous but I know that you will do something fabulous so it hurts less psst loving the Z gallerie clearance table you might want to check them out
aMAZing!!!! Have been drooling over grasscloth for a few weeks now as we get ready to purchase a new home. Could only wish to be so lucky to find such a treasure. I have considered driving to NC just to shop your Goodwills and other treasure spots.
ps would love if you or any of your readers could share sources of reasonably prices grasscloth online or in stores....THANKS!!

You could use it on boards like a big screen and put it flat against the wall behind your bed. Do you really think we believe that fib about Ralph Lauren? Have you ever gone to the Flagship store in NYC when you were there? It is at 72nd and Madison. When is your UK trip?
Hey...I would love it at $50/roll. You kill me with your great bargain finds. Must be good karma.
What a wonderful find! Grasscloth has such great texture. It really goes with your style - so glad you found such a bargain.
excellent find! I wouldn't have been able to pass that up. When I was thrifty shopping in my last relationship, I moved into my new place and was able to decorate some rooms with all of the stuff I bought but "couldn't use" right then.
love the look. first time learning about this type of wall cloth.
Those shopping carts looks like Goodwill or Value Village...i may be wrong but I love shopping both..*wink*
nice!
My husband grew up with grass cloth in his home and he still has a nostalgic desire for it....45 years later! I guess I'll have to find a wall to make him happy! Great blog. Great ideas! Keep it going.
What an amazing post!! You have a lot of style :D
A chic kiss ;)
while the grasscloth is great looking, it will discolor if there's a lot of light in the room so think twice about where you want your wall decorations because it will be visible once they are moved.
Love it!!!
for sure- church dance worthy!
Awesome find! Would look great in your future bathroom!
This question actually has nothing to do with grasscloth, but with the round leather coffee table! Do you know where I can find one just like it?
LOL!!! I suggested my friend go to RL UPPER EAST NYC to look at the bathrooms. I think they are the best! she did & she agreed.
Just love the grasscloth! Well everything really !
