i have been struggling all week long to get stuff done, so to happy its friday means to be happy that i get to work and do projects all weekend long. lol.
with that said this week's "friday finds" are a lil low, but hey...
i admit it. i have a lot of goals tucked away in my head. some of them are a lot less realistic than other, but i still hold on to them. owning a men's retail shop is a goal of mine. think the aesthetics of a billy reid with the inventory of a sid mashburn. if i did this one would be part of my shop. it was $30 i think. i'd paint it a lacquered black or red, perhaps a grey white wash. id store all kinds of amazing shirts and sweaters in it. alas, i dont have that shop so it stay right where it was.
honestly, i was surprised to see something like this in this particular store. its been a long time since i have come across a quality classic wooden piece of furniture that wasn't overpriced. i hope this store gets the hint and does better with their pricing. if i remember correctly it was $29.99.
imagine these painted white with a nice graphic print. uh huh. you see what I did there? i gave you inspiration. lol. grated the grey black isnt so bad either.i was on the fence about this chair. while it does have that old school flair that could be painted a statement color going on, it just didnt hit home 100% for me. i think i snapped a picture because i enjoyed the ugly tartan textile that was on it. lol
well that is it for me this week. not much, but it is something.
you can tweet me with #FridayFinds on twitter (MrGWHunting) if you'd like to share anything. i will trying to share a few on facebook as well as twitter.

You ave a great eye!
The first piece (for your fantasy store -which WILL become a reality, I just KNOW it!) reminds me of the piece you found here in Savannah and painted white for my NB courtyard. Same exact legs!
Miss you!
First of all I love you and your style. I try and save all of the episodes when you are on the Nate Bekus show.
I too love interior design. My side gig is designing and creating soft home accessories (bedding, pillows, etc.). I love mix and match unique texiles together. As for your new pieces:
The console I think I would paint a charcoal gray and line the inside with teal.
Dresser: either the laquer black or red you mentioned.
Arm Chair: I am really into men suiting fabrics in home design. With that being said I would paint the wood surrounding the chair in a laquer (any color) and re-upholster the chair in either a gray pinstripe, a glen plaid, or window pane fabric.
Barstools: I would cover then in a menswear fabric.

I really liked the $29.99 dresser. I swear its hardware matches my bedroom suite. So wish I was where you were to grab that buy.
FYI -- no men's store for you in my book. Your clothing fashion sense is nothing compared to your home design sense which is astronomically fantastic.
I have been following you since I first saw you on t.v. and you have greatly inspired me. I was in a different town a few weeks ago, and I passed a Goodwill store. It was calling out to me. I went inside and one of the employees was JUST putting out one of those REALLY expensive floor gel mats marked with a price of $15! It still had the original cardboard sleeve around it. They normally go for about $100 in the retail shops. Wooo hooo!
That tartan chair is cool... I would gel stain all the wood darker though. That middle of the road wood color just doesn't do it for me.
Great pieces, and I agree with the over pricing esp at my local GW :(
I have been desperately searching for barstools like that...any chance you can tell me which location you were at??
