Change the paint and fabric, sure. But don't remove the arms! One, they are necessary to the aesthetic lines of the chairs and Two, the chairs may fall apart. They need those arms to maintain structural soundness.

Armchairs are so much more comfortable at the dinner table, and alone, as occasional chairs, they have much more presence. I have been looking for some chairs like these for a long, long time.

They look very hotel ballroom like with them. I am thinking of distressed gold paint with elegant silk upholstery, but then you might be going a different direction. Ann

So cool! I like the arms as well, and the wheels are really neat. I wonder why they only have them on the front?

As for only front casters, to me it seems they would assist the maître d' while seating guests.
