the bed was amazing, but it was really too big for my space. plus i wanted to try out an easy diy for a bed, i sold it to a lady on craigslist. she really tried her best to out negotiate me. not a chance. sometimes you have to stand firm and be willing to say, "well i am sooo sorry you drove all this way. thanks anyway."
now i didnt get the exact price i wanted, but i accepted something pretty decent.
so what now? do i sleep on the floor?
now i start brain storming a quick fix for the bedroom. if you have been following me for a while you will know i picked these up. you can read more about them HERE.
as you can see these wall sconces don't have a shade, but i recently found some at a great price and will be taking you on that journey very soon. these wall sconces are great because they dont have to be hardwired in to the wall.
black spray paint will obviously be the trick here. i am kind of pumped about the whole thing. i need a good project to keep me going.
what do you think? what's going on in your bedroom?
i want to welcome my lastest supporter for the blog. hopewell creek imaginative felt toys. she has such an amazing talent and has been featured in so many places. please hope over to her etsy site and take a look around.

Yes, a can of black spray paint will do those sconces wonders! I did this with a floor lamp that I found at a church rummage sale for $5. Same loud brassiness as those sconces, transformed by a nice easy coat of brushed nickel spray paint.
I love it dear.. I'm looking for something suave to go with the red couches I just bought, love your blog..
Love the sconces! Call me crazy but I like the gold next to that black and white pattern. Can't wait to see what you create in your beautiful bedroom!
I'm having a giveaway at my blog. Come check it out!
ooh, looking forward to seeing your bed diy - I'm about to do a major overhaul on my bedroom, and the bed is going, as well...
Very nice. I like that fact that sconces have a brass pipe running down the wall for the electrical. I think it looks very sloppy to just have the cord hanging down.
Our bedroom I need to 1) finish the wood floor into the walk in closet and then 2) install wainscotting. Baby steps.
Look forward to seeing what you do. My bedroom is on hold while I am on crutches for 5 weeks. But after that, I am painting the walls and my furniture!

Can't wait to see how it turns out. As for my bedroom, I am on crutches for 5 weeks so it is on hold. After that, I am painting the walls and the chest of drawers I found on the sidewalk!
I remember that bed b/c I have the exact same bed. I also thought about selling mine, but no, can't do. I can't wait to see your DIY bed. I made a headboard for my daughter's bedroom. Not sure I'll be posting pictures soon...surgery coming up and need to concentrate on other things right now. I'll check back to see what you're up to.
As always, love your style and your blog.

Keep them brass and add black shades! Like your lamps!
I do like the brass and black shade idea. I mean all of the lamps im my house are brass or faux gold. LOL.
I just purchased a chandlier for $5 at my thrift store. The glass is beautiful byt it has the same finish as this picture (yuck). Gonna prime, paint blue then 2-3 coats of white and sand down to the blue in places to give it an old feel. I'll post on Pinterest when done. Hope to finish this weekend.
Really like thos sconces. What is the general rule with chrome/silver and brass/gold. Is it ok to mix the two throughout the room. I wanted it to look polished and well designed and not look too eclectic. Im going for the contemporary look with an art deco flare.
I love your style. Can't wait to see the changes to come.
