i was thinking about using it to display a menu on. but ya know...that's been done already. not saying i can't do it again.
they need a little touching up, but i think that is something i can do while watching netflix (if i can get it to work.)
so what to do with all of them. i honestly don't know. what would you do with all of them?

I like the idea that you have six for impact. Could you use them in a powder room...ha! with graffiti? Or an office with inspirational quotes?
How about using it in your entry (or any other room) with a message of Welcome-or Holiday Greeting-for your friends and family that stop in. Or give as Christmas Gifts for same use...
Rashon they are perfect for simple holiday decor. How about you glitter some letters and spell out "PEACE" OR "GRACE" and display along console or sideboard. I love the red frame. Chalkboards are my favorite I just made some from vintage trays and used them to serve desserts at my 1st Lucky 7 Design Holiday Boutique.
Can't wait to see what you will do with them!

If you put cork board or a wrapped panel in instead of the chalkboard (or on top of it depending on clearance), you could pin your bow ties up and use it for displaying the ones you're not currently wearing . . . . One could be bow ties, another cuff links, and so on. Cheers - CT
Oh, that's a fun problem to have!!! What about drawing one letter on each chalkboard to spell out something Christmas-y? Like NOEL, or PEACE... etc. Then hang them up individually with a thick ribbon! (Alternatively, do your menu idea again, and I'll buy the other five off you!!! ;)
I would put legs on 2 of them and make side tables for a guest room. Then you can leave your guests cute notes, sayings, menu or sched for the week...
I would attach two together, with the chalk surface facing out after spray painting the frame white, silver, or grey (colors I like for winter) and then attach some wire/string and hang to make a double sided message board.
I would also make a couple into tv trays and I'd attach a small pouch with string to the side for chalk.
BTW, I love the site.

I have a large red one in my foyer for Christmas, and I wrote 'ho, ho, ho' on it (original, I know!). I think you should get a space in a retail shop and sell some of your thrifty finds after they are re-habed.
Can you remove the chalkboard leaving an empty frame? If yes, take one of your Christmas ornament thingys that you just made and hang with ribbon in the center of it.
I think they would be fabulous as part of a party buffet. Place a dish or two on each and then write the name of each dish on the board next to it. Or, your could use then as placemat alternatives for a New Years party and let each dinner guest write their wishes for the New Year on them. And, then let them each take home their board!
Can't wait to see what you create!
Love finding stuff like that in storage! I like Rosa's idea, using each to spell out a word!
I like what Mary said about the graffiti! How fun would that be?!?! They can be turned into an entire wall of art! Can't wait to see what you do!
The easel is perfect for large coffee table books - if you're into them - and turn the chalkboard into a mirror.
paint them with magnetic paint and attach pictures to them with mini magnets.
Place setting with each persons name written on it.
ooohh a wall of chalkboards is a dream :) I would probably change the frames to gold or something like. A really thick frame ... Maybe put a nice Christmas quote or bible Scripture??
I would send 2 to me:)
I still like the menu idea, it's cute & classy! Are you going to be having people over for dinner during the holidays?

I was just thinking recenty how I really need a nice chalk board in my kitchen...and you have 6. You lucky duck. I would cluster them all together on one wall.
I know I'm late in the game, but I say you don't go the traditional Christmas route yet do something unexpected. It has to represent you and what better way to do that than use your bow ties! Use command velcro to attach them and cover an entire board! It'll look Christmasy but serve a function at the same time. Can't wait to see what you do!
On my chalkboard lady for a party once I put it at my outside front door and wrote ( I have a large chalkboard shaped like a lady and her shirt I painted with chalkboard paint)
"The Party is Here"
she was all decorated Christmasie
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Got an empty wall and 1 floating shelf? Use your easel on the shelf holding a frame saying ART - and use another (smaller frame) that says OF.
Under the shelf, but start at center, mount your chalkboards in a row. Make 6 stencils of 6 fonts (print off computer & cut out from card-stock). Color in stencil (sketchy / horizontal lines) with chalk. Use a fixative to set.
Spell out what you do: THRIFT.
New wall art: "Art Of THRIFT".
You could use it to anchor a gallery wall. Frame a few B&W photos of you & your thrifting friends (wearing your tee) out thrifting.

Just had another thought for these lovelies: Use them to display your BOWTIES. Use the easel to display a dres-shirt (folded around cardboard - the size of a clip board).... Hey - Use a clipboard too and have a FUN photo shoot!

this blog is one of a kind i really like it!!
following you!i've decided to check out you're blog before redecorating my house!! ahhaha have a nice evening!!
I Love the idea of using the chalkboards for menus. I had a large one once on the wall and let everyone who came over draw a pic or write a poem or quotes-whatever they liked-...then took pictures after everyone left...(to get ready for the next time)
I would leave the frame as it is.....it looks kind of edgey and cool. I would lay them all flat and with glue write out a message or create a Christmas Scene......and then add the glitter which sticks to the glue.....and WALLA...you have a unique decoration!!
My other idea is to use them as trays....just add handles on either side.
You could write interesting things on the blackboard, cover it with clear glass so you can lift the glass to change the messages. Or.....lift the glass and add coloured paper or cards or anything flat.
