so from here on in, if you would indulge me, i will be featuring
lillie's craft corner will showcase projects mom has completed. she has a lot of great projects in the works so hopefully some of them will inspire you. some, may even be available for custom orders.
on yesterday i showed you guys this $10 suit i thrifted from the salvation army. while i was out, i also went to a few fabric stores. i pulled a few items. left them. brought mom back to see them. now mom couldnt quite see my thought process as i was pulling stuff, and had to take a second look to realize how great the trio looked. ahem.
i can certainly see a few more items made with these 100% cotton fabric. perhaps we will brainstorm a few more ideas and get back to you guys.
when we got home, mom and i came up with a little template...
measured it, cut it out...
and away she went on her sewing machine and this is what happened...
take a look at yesterday's post to relive the full $10 fit this bowtie accompanied. now i like my bowties to be 3 inches in width. no smaller than 2.5 inches. having a mother than can sew a bowtie in any fabric is choose is truly a blessing.there will be a collection of bowties very soon, so stay close so that you can be the first to hear about it.
what you think?

I think your mom rocks, and I don't mean in a chair!!! She's a keeper!
Terrific! LOVE the color combo. And with that suit? Swoon!
Can we get a tour of your closet sometime?
That's truly amazing! What a great mom to have!

Dear Mother Lillie,
I love the work of your hands, the fruit of your labor. Psalm 90:17.

Love it! The photos of your mom's hand sewing are just beautiful.

Your mom is the best! She is a very talented seamstress. As soon as I saw the pattern I knew you were after some fancy new bow ties!! I can so relate to how you feel about your mom's passion. My Granny was the same way, and I learned so much from her. Miss her tons. I can only imagine what she could create these days.
I love this post. Loved seeing your mom's hands at work. Nothing like a mother's touch. Bow tie is beautiful. Brilliant idea and sure to be a hit!
Cool! Momma love..nothing like it.
lol
Love the post, and the creativity. Detail photos of the sewing equiptment made me happy! :)
I think the apple didn't fall far from the tree! Beautiful!
Yo Momma is the BOMBA?! Or better yet, your Mom is the Bomb! Love a mom that can sew!
Lucky you that mom is crafty!
i love it!
and know the ties will be fabulous!
My favorite picture is of Miss Lillie's hands. They show a lifetime of living. Oh, nice bowtie too!
I have that same tomato pincushion with the little strawberry sharpener. I'm glad I learned to sew in home economics in high school. Had three years of it & was probably the most valuable class I took. People who sew can build their world from scratch!
Does your mother offer sewing classes? If so, I am in your area and would be interested.
Just got a chance to look at your fabulous bow-ties. I think/suggest that you patent these........not saying....just saying....Please look into this...
