[im no food blogger, BUT...]

...i love food and i wanna talk about food on the blog. its been a while since i have blogged about food slash entertaining slash tablescapes, like i did here and here and here. the fact is, i am a creative individual and i love pretty much all areas of classic designs. whether it be entertaining, home design or fashion. i am a fan.

albeit i am not a food blogger, i enjoy reading various food blogs from time to time and commenting on them when i can.

for the past few years i have been sneaking off to harris teeter, buying a slice of ricotta cheesecake for dessert. like three times a week.
i am not big on sweets or the like. however, this one $3 slice of cake is exceptional and the exception. they also have it with whipped cream and cherries. i normally buy it plain and embellish it with my fruit of choice like these rasberries, that almost didn't make it onto the cheesecake.

speaking of cheesecake...

i went to the cheesecake factory and asked if they had anything similar. of course, the waiter's reply was, "ricotta cheese is used in like lasagna and stuff, not cheesecake." humph. a simple "no sir" wouldve sufficed.

have you ever tried ricotta cheesecake?
got a recipe for a good one?

I will now be on the hunt for ricotta cheesecake--thank you very much! Seriously, I'll ask my pastry chef son for a recipe and get back to you!

Don't you remember the scene in the Sopranos where Carmella wanted to get Meadow into Georgetown? She made a ricotta cheesecake and brought it to a famous alumna and coerced her into accepting it and writing a recommendation. Thus the power of ricotta cheesecake. (Meadow ultimately went to Columbia) You are going to be inundated with recipes. Ann

You will love this one.
It's the best ricotta cheesecake I've ever had.

My grandmother (from Italy) made the most amazing ricotta cheesecake when she was alive. I think it's a Italian thing, the kid at the Cheesecake Factory was clearly ignorant to the fact of how popular it is. I will look through my grandmother's box of recipes and send it to you if I have it :)

I never met a cheese I didn't like, so I'd try this for sure.

This is why these people work at the Cheesecake factory. Haven't they heard of tiramisu? You use ricotta in it too! I can see how it would give a cheesecake a wonderful texture.

Looks fantastic! I haven't had a ricotta cheesecake in a long time. I seemed to have missed that in my recent Birthday Bakery Crawl.

Enjoy your cheesecake!

I LOVE me some cheesecake. and yes- I've had and made every sort! THe ricotta type has a whole different texture than the cream cheese based variety (more typically Cheesecake factory style). The ricotta I think is the more traditional Italian cheesecake. I use the Joy of Cooking cheesecake recipes- all fabulous- the key is the slow cooling of the cake after it's cooked (in the oven with the door propped open with a spoon) and cooking it in a "water bath".

Here's to us cheesecake addicted folk;)

My mother makes Ricotta Cheesecake. She likes the Rao's recipe (famous hangout for Frank Sinatra). I think you can google the recipe.

All of the sudden I'm craving cheesecake.

I'd be very interested in seeing you do posts on tablescapes and the presentation of food. I'm not a fabulous cook so I'm always all about the presentation when I entertain. Any inspiration would be much appreciated. (I steal almost all of my ideas from Eddie Ross, I need some fresh stuff!)
