these last few days have been phenomenal. i cannot express how grateful i am to everyone who tweeted me & blogged about mr. goodwill hunting's segment on the nate berkus show. it really gave me the push i needed to continue this amazing journey of thrifting and showing that you can have an amazing home and wardrobe on any budget.
my family was unable to watch the show with me on thursday, BUT they came on yesterday so that we could watch it as a family. so, i prepared brunch for them and of course i set the table.
i ALWAYS bring out the best for my family.
its a simple table setting with a flower arrangement inspired by our family photos we took yesterday. you know i just had to bust out one of my newly thrifted ralph lauren wine chillers that i blogged about here. i just couldn't help myself...lol
UPDATE: I have linked this post to the following linky parties
Centsational Girl's Spring Link Party.
Marty's A Stroll Thru Life Tabletop Tuesday.

Such an elegant table, what a beautiful way to show your family how special they are to you.
BTW, I loved the tip you gave on the Nate Show about buying a thrift store piece for the hardware and then re-donating it back. Why didn't I think of that!
Love it! We were just discussing the art of table setting! Fabulous!
Beautiful table setting! Love the apples and the pop of color they add. The flowers look beautiful in the wine bucket.
Love it! Im a plate addict and I love your choices. Looks so rich & regal. Black is my favorite staple. Everything is pulled together beautifully.
I also loved you on Nate and cant wait to see you on there again! I requested it....hehehe!

Because I'm twisted, I misread the headline in my reader as "[MANscaping with Mr. GWH]". I glanced at the tiny photo and thought "Helluva job!"
Then I realized my mistake.
Gorgeous table, BTW.
I promise you that I would abuse our relationship if we were friends in real life.
I would pop over all the time and I would just happen to have a happy birthday cake with me and friends with me. I would walk in and be all like "I was just in the neighborhood and I thought I would stop by....and have my birthday soiree' at your house!"
Then you would look at me for a full minute, then say "Bring your silly butt in here girl."
And my friends would think I was so cool. And you would love me.
I just imagined that whole scenario just staring at your table settings. Yep. You inspire me...(in a totally non creepy way)
Watching your segment on Nate right now. You're fabulous! :)
Wow! That is soo beautiful! You really have an eye for everything! It's so symmetrical and perfect! LOVE IT!
I am loving the dinner set & The use of apples on the buffet. Congrats on the Nate show & thanks for putting the link up so your number 1 Auzzie fan could view the eppisode- you rocked!! Samantha

That is a beautiful tablescape and beautifully shot. That cake looks really good too.Is baking one of your many talents?
Very sophisticated but still friendly. What a score on those wine chillers!
Can you send me a slice of that cake? It's not too far from Rock Hill to Raleigh right? Watched your Nate Berkus segment, it was fantastic! Loved everything but especially what you did with that lamp. WHen I saw the before I thought "Oh gosh I wish I could get my hands on it!"
You are amazing! My two 20-something daughters are going to be living together as they pursue work and grad school. They'll be living in a fairly ratty little house with good "bones." We three will be hitting the thrift shops hard, repainting and refurbishing...and following YOU every step of the way!
So beautiful...lovely changing and edible art!
A beautiful black and white delight!!! You know how I love this table anything black and white and I am so there. How wonderful to share this beautiful table and the show with your family. kathysue
Lovely. I love the bit of gold in the chargers. It adds some warmth and goes so well with your rams head lamps! Your family must feel very proud.
Very nice! All I want to know is did you make the cake and where is my slice? I like the apples mixed with the flowers. You'll have to check my blog on Monday for my fab weekend find at Goodwill.
Fabulous decor, and impeccable taste as usual. And this is why we love coming to your blog!

That is beautiful! I just watched your segment on The Nate Show online. Awesome. You did a great job and what a fantastic little video of your home. Congrats! How's you manage to get on there? Just curious about the story. I am a new follower, so could have missed it in a past post. Also, thank you so much for coming by my blog today and commenting! It means a lot.
A big congrats for a fabulous segment!
Jeanine
So much fun to watch your segment. I've been thrifting for years and it's so much fun to see someone with the same passion as I have. My home is totally decorated with thrift store finds.

Really Gr8 ! Thanks For sharing..
I just love this tablescape. It is so evident that family means so much to you. As a florist, I especially love the bold color choice of the flowers in the amazing RL urn. I tend to go plain with the dishes and use linen, flowers and accessories to bring color. Do you have many different sets of dishes or do you work with this palette and embellish with other items?
Eegads, those wine chillers are the ultimate GW find. Just just just just gorgeous! I love flowers in champagne buckets or anything else unexpected. You always bring it Mr. GW, that why we love you!
