[tablescaping with Mr. GWH]

happy sunday everyone!

these last few days have been phenomenal. i cannot express how grateful i am to everyone who tweeted me & blogged about mr. goodwill hunting's segment on the nate berkus show. it really gave me the push i needed to continue this amazing journey of thrifting and showing that you can have an amazing home and wardrobe on any budget.

my family was unable to watch the show with me on thursday, BUT they came on yesterday so that we could watch it as a family. so, i prepared brunch for them and of course i set the table.

i ALWAYS bring out the best for my family.

its a simple table setting with a flower arrangement inspired by our family photos we took yesterday. you know i just had to bust out one of my newly thrifted ralph lauren wine chillers that i blogged about here. i just couldn't help myself...lol

UPDATE: I have linked this post to the following linky parties

Centsational Girl's Spring Link Party.

Such an elegant table, what a beautiful way to show your family how special they are to you.

BTW, I loved the tip you gave on the Nate Show about buying a thrift store piece for the hardware and then re-donating it back. Why didn't I think of that!

Because I'm twisted, I misread the headline in my reader as "[MANscaping with Mr. GWH]". I glanced at the tiny photo and thought "Helluva job!"

Then I realized my mistake.

Gorgeous table, BTW.

I promise you that I would abuse our relationship if we were friends in real life.

I would pop over all the time and I would just happen to have a happy birthday cake with me and friends with me. I would walk in and be all like "I was just in the neighborhood and I thought I would stop by....and have my birthday soiree' at your house!"

Then you would look at me for a full minute, then say "Bring your silly butt in here girl."

And my friends would think I was so cool. And you would love me.

I just imagined that whole scenario just staring at your table settings. Yep. You inspire me...(in a totally non creepy way)

You are amazing! My two 20-something daughters are going to be living together as they pursue work and grad school. They'll be living in a fairly ratty little house with good "bones." We three will be hitting the thrift shops hard, repainting and refurbishing...and following YOU every step of the way!

I just love this tablescape. It is so evident that family means so much to you. As a florist, I especially love the bold color choice of the flowers in the amazing RL urn. I tend to go plain with the dishes and use linen, flowers and accessories to bring color. Do you have many different sets of dishes or do you work with this palette and embellish with other items?
