Today is the LAST day in my

Its been fun sharing these amazing tips with each of you. I appreciate all of the panelists taking time to offer their advice on thrifting.
Thrifting is personal. People my not shop second hand for the same reasons. Some people do it out of necessity, others do it for the "thrill of the hunt" and the "satisfaction of the find."
Why do you enjoying thrifting?
The thrill of the hunt, of course! It literally gives me an adrenaline high when I spot something I know is a keeper in the midst of a lot of other "junk." It also gives me a lot of satisfaction when I am able to find an incredible deal and then come home and turn the piece into something beautiful with a little TLC.
I think my enjoyment comes from the thrill of the hunt and the unknown! You just never know what you're going to find while thrifting. Thrifting has become a part of my life. If I see a Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc.I must go in. Its just exciting!
Its a creative outlet for me. It's also thrilling and challenging to see if you can find a piece you have in mind, and when you do, its like you struck gold or you're a young George Bailey wishing for a million dollars in "Its a Wonderful Life." - "HOT DOG!!!!. It's also a way now-a-days to still get a shopping "fix" without breaking the bank.
Thrifting gives you an adjusted perspective on the things we live with. Now there are so many shiny magazines and websites offering all of these wares for mass consumption. But really, it is the unique and the rarity that we want to live with. Those things that can't be replicated or reproduced and sold on clearance shelves at the local homemart. As well there is the inspiration factor of the leg of a vintage piece of furniture or twist of a candle stick that can jump start the imagination.

Thrill of the hunt! It's the rush of discovering something that no one else has seen. Since I discovered that I am a hunter, not a collector, it's easier to sell the things I find.
Thrifting is kinda a way of life for me. I've been doing it for years now. That old saying holds true today, another mans trash, is another mans treasure. You look at The Antique Road Show, don't you?
I love the "Wow" factor in creating something beautiful out of something that was discarded. Besides, as an interior designer and a Gemini my taste changes too much to buy expensive home decor :)
All the possibilities! I love looking at things in thrift stores and thinking about different ways I could make them over. Thrifting is a new hobby for me and luckily my husband enjoys it as well. Just found your blog, loving it.
Thrill of the hunt!!! I have close friends that had completely turned their noses up at thrifting "I'll buy my furniture new" and now they get mad at me when I go without inviting them to tag along... There is nothing more fulfilling to me than taking a neglected piece of furniture and turning it into a work of art!!!! Not to mention the great odds and ends u find thrifting... I probably should open up a little shop somewhere and sell the great treasures I find for a dollar or less.. but I can't seem to part with any of them lol
did I mention that it wasn't until i joined the wonderful world of blogging two years ago that I began obsessing over all things GW and Salvation Army?
It's the thrill of the hunt and a low commitment factor for me. We are hard on our surroundings in my house. I don't have to worry about it so much if it didn't cost a lot and isn't a precious piece. Also, when my taste changes it's easy to get rid of it and move on to the next thing.
First- absolutely adore your blog! My mother taught me long ago to find bargains even if you can afford it at its regular price! I also love history and finding something no one else may have or use it in a way they may never have thought of...also love finding and re-furbishing vintage furniture! Take care, Caroline
Thrill of the hunt, the attempt to be green, appreciation of vintage items...too many reasons to list probably!
